My friend, Stabilo, was passing through a period of severe depression. He started feeling emptier and emptier, as the days passed. Because of this state, he stopped writing 4 months ago.
Writing was his life. All that he could ever do was write.
I had hoped that things would take a turn for the better, and thus I stood by him, never stopping to believe in a change.

My friend, Stabilo, was a huge fan of Nouveau Réalisme and, especially, of Yves Klein. Hoping to leap into a new beginning, and forget about the sorrows, he decided to reenact Klein's "Saut dans le vide" ("Leap into the void"). Stab (as friends called him) had hoped that this event would push the restart button of his life and writing.
Thus, he asked me to act as the photographer that documents his leap. We discussed where and when we should do it, deciding that it would be best do to the jump in front of the Christian Albrechts University, from Kiel. So, we travelled to Germany. Soon, it was decided to be done at sunset, on July 24th, 2013.
When the moment arrived, Stab assumed the position, getting ready for the jump. During this time, I took some shots of him, while he was preparing - psychologically more than phisically (the images that you can see).
After that, I focused on preparing my camera, as well, in order to freeze his life-changing act.
When I turned to him again, he was no longer there.

My friend, Stabilo, was a very good marker, always putting colour into the lives of others. Now, he is nowhere to be found.
This is a photo of him when he was younger, but not much has changed since then.
If you see him, please give me a sign. Phone number: 0040721517531.
