The origin of art / 2012
The work discusses which would be, clearly, the place of origin of a work of art, which is the “bottom” of the brain of the art-maker, the place through which he emanates ideas. Thus, when an artist creates something, he leaves something of himself there, exactly as he does with the feces, or the nails that he cuts weekly, or the hair that he looses daily.
The art is a part of the immaterial body of an artist, that stands there, as an idea. When he materializes the idea, he emanates the immaterial into our world, as he does with the feces.
Searching deep through the origin of the idea, before the materialization of it would be like looking into his rear.
Regarding the space presented through the whole - it could represent the deposit of a gallery, which is also an origin of the marketed art.
The subject of the photo is Mr. Omar Yage, a Palestinian performance artist also known as "EXCREMENTUM REX", that finished the Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts, from Jerusalem.
